Outside of most major resorts in Mexico, if you ask for a Corona, you’ll get a “you’re not from here” look. Very few people drink Corona in Mexico, since it’s a brand focused on the American and International markets.
If you’re looking for an authentic Mexican beer drinking experience consider swilling down a couple bottles of the following brands:

Dos XX is a pale lager with notes of malt, spice and citrus. It leaves the slightest sweet taste in your mouth. This beer is served on draft at bars and restaurants in the Palladium. You’ll find your room mini-bar stocked with bottled Dos XX and Superior.

Negra Modela is a full bodied lager. When poured it shows a dark amber color with red high lights. More flavorful than other beers, Negra Modela has notes of caramel and a subtle nuttiness. Plus, unlike other dark beers it isn’t as filling. There’s definitely more flavor in this beer than a Corona or Dos Equis.
Tecate is the Pabst Blue Ribbon of Mexico, it’s great on price and has a decent bite. It’s a lot like the older American beers of the 1970’s when they actually had a bit of taste.
These three beer brands will keep your taste buds amused while south of the border.

TV shows and action heroes have theme songs, so why not a resort?
Listen to Merengue, the official Grand Palladium song. You need to have windows media player to listen.
This got me thinking, if VP Supply were to have a theme song what do you think it would be? I’m looking forward to your answers.

Glancing through the El Dorado menu, your mouth waters at the prospect of tasting the succulent dishes. The thought of a thick, Angus Rib Eye smothered in sauted mushrooms, accompanied by a steaming baked potato prompts a peel of rumbling thunder from your belly. Meanwhile a colorful picture of grilled chicken and vegetables slathered in an electric Chimichurri sauce only adds the fuel of anticipation to your escalating hunger.
Pondering the scrumptious choices, your eyes wander from the menu, gazing beyond your reflection in the glass wall running parallel to your table. Outside the setting sun casts a pall over the shimmering fountains, the sparkling waters take on a hue close to your red wine. In the fading light you can just make out the glints of fat, golden coy darting about in the ponds.
“And what will you be having for dinner tonight?” The question from the head waiter breaks your stupor, reminding you of your hunger.
“Suddenly I’m in the mood for the charcoal grilled salmon steak,” you answer. Jotting down your meal, the waiter turns to leave, but pauses at your last request.
‘Do you mind bringing another loaf of bread? I’m starving.”
“Certainly.”
Note: If you would like to eat at the El Dorado, or any al carte restaurant at the Grand Palladium, be sure to make a reservation at the Guest Services desk in the hotel lobby. Your stay is for 5 nights, meaning you are entitled to reserve 2 dinner reservations.

Loving parents take notice!
Either you’re taking a respite from the kids, or bringing them along for this vacation. If it’s the latter option, rest assured there are a litany of activities to keep your rug-rats, and rebellious teens occupied. In fact, Mom and Dad, you’ll have enough time to catch a little R&R, and maybe sample a couple of the local beverages on your own time.
Short of the beach, and wealth of sporting activities, the Grand Palladium opened a new Black & White Junior Club this May. With enough amenities and gadgets to rival a Google employee’s lounge, this club will be your teen’s favorite hangout.
Computer Room (featuring internet and games)
Lounge (music, dance, etc.)
For parents with younger children, the Grand Palladium is working on completing a mini club for youth ages 1 - 12. It’s expected to be completed in late June, early July 2008, way ahead of your departure date.
